Yes, I ventured forth into the 2 degree weather early this morning, properly garbed with hand-warmers, in an attempt to see birds out by the airport. There were none to be found there, and there was just a Common Raven on the drive out there. I walked the airport fence all the way to the grassy edge of the tide-flats. It was beautiful with the branches again covered with rime ice at home as well as on my walk, and the sky to the west was a gentle pink. And I did have a couple of moose along the way.
On the drive back I stopped at the Point Woronzoff overlook to look west out over the floating ice where a fog bank completely obscured the mountains across the inlet.
