Sorry for the unexciting title – I think I’m addicted to writing my blog, even if I haven’t seen any exciting birds and have little to say. I promise I’ll make the title sound exciting when I finally get out and find some new birds on which to report (so you don’t have to read any farther today, if that’s all that’s of interest to you). Actually today was a bit different from the usual bird predominance in our yard – the usual Steller’s Jays and Black-billed Magpies were rarely around. More evident were the Common Redpolls, plus there were also at least one each of Black-capped Chickadee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and Hairy Woodpecker at the feeders.
I barely moved from my computer all day, and spent the whole day doing two major projects: patent searching for an Alaskan client and work on my PowerPoint presentations. I’ve still got work to do on the patent search but managed to finish the presentation for Thursday’s talk on Anchorage birding areas and got started on the Kenai talk and my talk on my ABA big year.
